We are committed to safeguarding your privacy online.
We only use your personal information to help us to improve our
services to you, to provide you with products you have requested, and to inform you
about additional products or services that may be of interest to you.
Our site’s registration form requires users to give us
contact information (such as name and e-mail address) and demographic information
(such as zip code and year of birth). We also require a username and
password to ensure security of your databases. Please note that we do not share our
users’ personally identifiable information with any third parties without
our users’ prior consent.
How is your information stored and protected?
We protect your account information by placing it on the secure
portion of our website. That's why you have to enter a unique Username and
Password each time you want to access your eCriteria Data Author account. In
addition, you can use the Log Out selection located in your Data Author admin area to
securely exit your account without closing your browser. Your Password should never
be shared with anyone.
Please be assured that eCriteria will not view or gather any
information regarding the contents of your private databases stored in your
eCriteria account except in cases involving technical support services.
The data that you store in your eCriteria account and other
information you provide when you register for eCriteria’s Web database publishing
service are maintained in a secure environment that is inaccessible to the public.
What information does eCriteria collect about you and how is it used?
eCriteria collects information in several ways from different
parts of our website.
Some personal information is gathered when you visit eCriteria,
including your Internet address and the site from which you visited. If you choose to
become an eCriteria customer, during registration eCriteria asks for your name, address,
e-mail address, and zip code. Some of this information is optional. The more information
you volunteer (and the more accurate it is), the better we are able to insure you
receive the services you require. Once you register as a Data Author you are no
longer anonymous to eCriteria - you are given an eCriteria Username and are
able to take full advantage of eCriteria's many features. Data Users never have
to register, and may use databases anonymously.
In addition to registration we may ask you for personal
information at other times, including (but not limited to) when you sign up to
participate in the Channel Partner Program, and when you report a problem with
one of our sites or services. If you contact eCriteria we may keep a record of
that correspondence.
We use all of the personal information that we collect for
research purposes to improve eCriteria’s service. In addition, we summarize
information about our customers that is provided to advertisers and partners. Our
partners and advertisers use this summary information to provide more relevant
information and offers to our customers who choose to receive such offers and
information. We do not sell data about our users or provide any personally
identifiable information about any individual member without their consent.
Wherever eCriteria collects personal information we make an effort to include a link
to this Privacy Policy on that page.
